- Canton plant recognized for protecting the environment -

Nissan North America’s facility in Canton, Miss., is the first vehicle assembly plant to receive the coveted 2009 ENERGY STAR® from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This is the fourth-consecutive year the Canton plant has received this distinguishing mark of energy performance that places the facility among the top 25 percent of auto assembly plants in the United States.

“It means something special when your company is connected with ENERGY STAR®,” said Dan Bednarzyk, vice president, Manufacturing-Canton. “That’s why we’re always proud to receive this award and will continually strive to look for new and beneficial ways to protect the environment and improve energy efficiency.”

As an ENERGY STAR® partner, Nissan has committed to three principal actions that include measuring and benchmarking energy performance; reducing the intensity of energy use at all facilities; and educating staff and the public about ENERGY STAR®.

Nissan’s ongoing energy efficiency practices at Canton include:

  • Engaging all employees in energy-management practices
  • Installation of variable-speed electric-motor drives that match motor loads to the duty required
  • Elimination of compressed air leaks
  • Reducing startup and shutdown time on process equipment
  • Improved controls for paint-process systems

“Receiving the ENERGY STAR® is a testament to the compatibility of improving our environment while enhancing the corporate bottom line,” said Jean Lupinacci, director, Commercial and Industrial Branch.

Nissan’s vehicle assembly plants in Smyrna, Tenn., and Canton, Miss., continue to receive ENERGY STAR® awards year-after-year. The plants, including Nissan’s powertrain assembly plant in Decherd, Tenn., have seen their energy efficiency improve by more than 30 percent, saving the company over $11.5 million per year.

Infiniti Celebrates Two Decades of Inspired Performance with “Limited Engagement Winter Event” Campaign

– Winter Sales Event Features 0% Financing, Special Leasing Offers on Select Models –

Infiniti today announced a new “Limited Engagement Winter Event,” which celebrates Infiniti’s 20th anniversary of sales in North America with special leasing and financing offers. The event is supported by a new marketing campaign designed to target key potential buyers through use of a comprehensive strategy that includes homepage takeovers and in-market behavioral targeting on third-party automotive sites. The campaign runs through January 4, 2010 and also utilizes a range of network broadcast TV, spot TV, local and multi-cultural newspapers, direct marketing, paid search and point-of-purchase executions.

Available finance offers include 0% APR financing (up to 36 months, for qualified buyers) on the complete lineup of Infiniti performance luxury vehicles (except for the Infiniti G37 Convertible). Sample lease offers include a $349/month lease on the popular G37 Sedan RWD Journey with Premium Package; a $399/month lease on the sporty G37 Coupe RWD Journey with Premium Package; and a $399/month lease on the EX35 Journey RWD or EX35 Journey AWD – each equipped with Bose® and Around View Monitor™ and Navigation Packages (39-month leases, see dealer for details).

Infiniti Limited Engagement Winter Event advertising will also run in Asian Indian local newspapers in New York, Chinese local newspapers in San Francisco and Los Angeles, and will appear on Hispanic web sites.
